Week 2 off to a good start :) September 21, 2017

Hi Everyone,

I can’t believe it’s Wednesday already!! The time is flying by.

Monday was a very busy day at the clinic. Three new patients came in to start their treatment.  It was a full house! We all sat there with our IV’s and shared our stories as to why we were there. I went directly in to the Photon machine to sweat! I saw the physiotherapist for my shoulder. She first did ultra sound on it, then electric stimulation with heat and then got down and dirty with some stretches and deep massage!!! Ouch! I had to use my yoga breathing big time. (Thanks Donna !)

Tuesday my pick up was at 2:00 so I went for a nice walk then sat by the pool for an hour. It was nice to be out in the real world for a change. I was the first one at the clinic and again went straight to the Photon machine then had a Rolfing massage. I expected it to be so much more painful, but she was great. There was a great energy at the clinic today, lots of laughter and silliness. Someone asked what was “really” in the IV’s because we sure didn’t need any alcohol 🙂  It was one of the new patient’s birthday so they got him a guava cheesecake and we sang Happy Birthday. I didn’t get home until 8:30!!! Late night for me these days.

Today was an easy day. I woke up very tired. My shoulder bothered me most of the night. They told me to expect that though. I had my IV’s, sat in the Bemer and had a massage. This one was much more relaxing 🙂

All in all, I am feeling much better than I have in a long time. I’m very excited about the results.

OH! STAY TUNED! Tomorrow, I am getting my first stem cell facial 🙂  They have a rejuvenation package here for the skin, so the doc is having me get a treatment to show you all what it does. You know me…….. always willing to be the test project!!!

1 Week Down! 2 To Go!! September 17, 2017

Wow! What a week! I’ve learned so many new and exciting things this week. The biggest thing is that I LOVE STEM CELLS! 🙂  Also, the doctor is quite the scientist, so we get along great!! ;);)

Friday and Saturday were pretty much the same. IV’s with chelation therapy, B17 and stem cells. Sat in the Bemer chair and stood in the Photon machine. We were served amazing juices and lunches. I could sure get use to this! Hehe!

Tony was able to get home. The threatening storm has calmed down. We are still watching it, but it has turned westward into the ocean now and we don’t think it’s a threat anymore. It’s very humid and overcast for the most part. Although, we saw some peeks of sun and blue sky when we were sitting on the patio today.

A new patient came in Saturday from Minnesota with a caregiver. I was the welcoming committee and in 5 minutes we were like old friends. The woman who is the caregiver is my age and likes to walk, so this morning she and I explored the town a bit. Then, they invited me over for brunch. It turns out they are staying in a condo right around the corner from me! It was nice to relax and share stories.

Day 2, 3 and 4 at Stemaid Institute in Mexico September 14, 2017

We spent Tuesday morning finding a better grocery store and found more organic and gluten free products. It made me very happy. Then we relaxed at the pool for awhile.

My appointment at the clinic was at 5:00 pm on Tuesday. I had the chelation and B17 IV’s and then the most precious of all…. my first IV of 20 million stem cells!!!! I was able to lay on the Bemer pad. It improves vascular circulationand blood flow.

Wednesday, I had to fast so the doctor could do blood work. Then I had another IV with the detox (chelation therapy), B17 and another 20 million stem cells. I had a new treatment in the Photon machine. It is like a sauna and helps with the detoxification. You have to stand in it for 30 minutes. I swear I was falling asleep standing up! Hahaha! We had a great lunch. The cook is amazing and she also brings fresh juices everyday. They are delicious! The treatment knocked me for a loop tho. By the time we got back to the condo, I felt horrible. I had a splitting headache, severe aches, chills, nausea! Ugh! It was rough.

On top of all that, there is a threat of a tropical storm/hurricane for this weekend. We originally changed Tony’s flight and made a flight for myself at the same time. Better to be safe than sorry, right!!!

Today, I woke up feeling much better. We packed a few things up to go to the airport after my treatment and headed off, ready to come home.(But not really, I didn’t want to have to start all over again!)

I had my first Ozone treatment this morning. They extract your blood out of one arm and  put it back in the other. It goes through a filtering system that purifies it. It’s amazing! You can see all the fat (cholesterol) coming out in the old blood and the filtered blood looks nice and clean. This process takes about an hour. It actually help clean out all the dead bacteria too. It is supposed to lesson the symptoms of the detox. The nurse call herself Dracula!! LoL!! It definitely made me feel better. I had my 3rd dose of stem cells. Then after lunch, I got to have a massage. 🙂

In the meantime, the storm seemed to have lessoned and I decided to stay. Tony was on his way out the door to the airport and decided to cancel his flight and stay with me until Monday. So, at least I won’t be alone if the storm gets bad.

Day 1 at Stemaid Institue in Mexico September 11, 2017

Hi Everyone!

We made it to Mexico safely. We spent Saturday and Sunday learning how to get around and get the things we need. People have been very friendly and helpful.

Today we met Dr. Brigitte Hanly. She is amazing! We had a lot in common. The clinic is small but clean. It has a beautiful view of the ocean. She did some testing with a German technology machine that reads the body’s electricity and an upscale Biofeedback machine. It determined that I have several parasites, bacteria, molds and Epstein Barr Virus. I received my first chelation therapy IV (detox) and two different types of B vitamins. Then we were served a fabulous lunch. Finally, Dr. Brigitte gave me all the supplements I’ll be taking along with the treatment program.  Tomorrow, I have my first stem cell treatment, more Chelation and B vitamins – all in the IV.

Dr. Brigitte said that around Thursday I might start to feel the effects of the detox and not feel very well. The second week is usually the worst, then it starts to get better. I will keep you posted as I feel up to it.

Again, thank you for all your thoughts, prayers and support. I’ll try to figure out how to add some pictures from my phone! I’m so technology challenged! :/

Sticking it to Spirochetes (aka Lyme Disease!) August 31, 2017

As many of you know, I was diagnosed last year with Lyme disease. I’ve probably had it for over 10 years, but I was misdiagnosed and now it’s considered Chronic Lyme Disease. These little buggers called Spirochete bacteria can burrow into any tissue in the body and cause havoc. They also become antibiotic resistant and just start to take over. Those of you who know me, know that I am kind of a science geek (or mad scientist in the facial room a least!) so I will try not to get too crazy with my explanations. 🙂

The bottom line is, after doing some treatments here that were not successful and talking  to a lot of people with Lyme disease who have tried all kinds of treatments, I’ve chosen to go to San Jose los Cabos, Mexico for stem cell treatment. I will try to blog as often as I can so you can see how things are going and say hi if you’d like. I am very excited about this treatment and the clinic I am going to.

I want to thank all of you for your unending support. I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of kindness, generosity, love and prayers from all of you. My heart is full of gratitude. I will miss each and every one of you, but I will be back stronger than ever. As a dear friend quoted ” Lyme disease doesn’t know who it decided to mess with!!”  I hope that I will bring awareness. comfort and hope to anyone suffering from this horrible disease. Please feel free to pass this on to anyone you know who may need help.

I hope to hear from anyone who feels like writing to me. I will start the actual blog from the clinic on September 11 which will be my first day. Until then, be safe and enjoy the holiday weekend.

The Tranquil Bride February 7, 2015

Will you be one of the 2.5 million brides to walk down the aisle this year? If so then chances are the stress involved in planning a wedding is in full swing. There is so much that goes into planning a wedding, but don’t neglect one of the most important things of all…you!!! Every bride wants to look and feel her best on the day of her wedding so here is a complete time line to get yourself ready for the big day!
wedding6-12 Months before the wedding-
Now is a great time to start thinking about your skin and how you want it to glow the day of your wedding! Not only your face, but your whole body. Start with regular monthly facials to focus on deep cleaning, exfoliation and hydration. If you’re trying to clear specific issues such as acne, pigmentation, or fine lines and wrinkles, consider doing light chemical peels to get your skin in it’s best shape ever. At this point it is a great idea to invest in a quality skin care system that you can also do at home as maintenance along side your professional treatments. Your skin will have the best results with at home care, as well as professional care.
Now is also a great time to start thinking about your back, shoulders, and arms. All those areas that will be visible when you’re in your gown. Doing monthly body scrub treatments will keep skin soft, smooth and looking healthy!
3 Months before the wedding-
Start deciding on what you want your make up to look like. Meet with several makeup artists to see which one suits you best. Bring pictures of what you envision your look to be.  It’s usually a good idea to have one to two trial runs with your makeup to make sure that it’s perfect. Take pictures of yourself after each one and analyze them to see what you like and what you’d like to change. That way there are no surprises on the day of. At this point you will want to schedule your appointment for the day of the wedding. This is not something you want to procrastinate on.
If you’re considering a sunless tan for the wedding you will want to start doing trial runs for this also. No bride wants to walk down the aisle with streaks, or orange skin. Take into consideration the cut of your gown and the colors chosen for your makeup so that everything balances itself out.
Waxing! When to wax depends on how fast your hair grows and how sensitive your skin is. If you’ve never waxed before, now is a good time to start. You want to know ahead of time what potential reactions you could have, how red you’ll be, will you have temporary bumps or blemishes from waxing. Like your make-up and hairstyle, you will want to do a few trial runs with your wax as well. Your final waxing should be done no sooner and no less than 7-10 days before the wedding. Make sure you refrain from any antibiotics, steroids, retinols, and make sure that you are not sunburned, all which can cause irritation, and skin lifting. If a waxing mishap should occur, you’ve allowed yourself time for the skin to heal.

Start doing weekly manicures to get your hands ready for photos…and that new ring! Decide what you will be doing color? French? No-chip? That way you can be prepared. The same care and attention needs to be given to your feet as well!
Eye Lash Extensions      .
Brides love doing eyelash extension for several reasons. They look and feel natural, they last 2-3 weeks so they’re perfect not only for the wedding day, but also the honeymoon, you can choose different lengths for a more dramatic look and best of all they stay put if crying should occur, and since you won’t have to wear mascara you won’t have to worry about runny black streaks down your cheeks!
If you’re interested in having eye lash extensions done for your wedding, it is recommended that you have the initial lash set applied 2 weeks prior to your wedding and then have your final touch-up done 1-2 days before the wedding. Doing a trial run ensures that you don’t have any reactions  to the eyelash adhesive and that the length and look is exactly what you want!
Body
The body always looks it’s best on the outside when it looks good on the inside. While you should be doing the following year round, it’s imperative to do it consistently as your wedding day approaches.
Make sure to get plenty of water, plenty of sleep and try to keep stress to a minimum(I know that part seems impossible).
Load up on fruits and veggies, and lay off as much salt as possible to reduce any bloating and water weight gain.
Make time for exercise , meditation, or yoga to relax you.
The day of-

Enzymes are not only going to cut down inflammation, but they’re going to help heal your digestive system as well!
