You Put a Tattoo Where? September 18, 2013

It may sound a little crazy, but more and more women are getting cosmetic tattoos on their faces.  Yes, permanent makeup has been a long-lasting solution for many women who are trying to simplify their lives.

Compelling reasons to get permanent makeup:

  • To save time getting ready by not having to draw on your eyebrows, eyeliner or lips every morning.
  • If you cannot wear conventional cosmetics due to allergies and skin sensitivities.
  • If you have sparse eyebrows and eyelashes due to heredity, alopecia, chemotherapy treatments, accidents or burns.
  • For the convenience of makeup that won’t smudge, smear or sweat off due to an active lifestyle.
  • If you’re seeking camouflage of scars from burns, cosmetic surgery, cleft lips or injuries.
  • If you have difficulty applying makeup because of poor eyesight, arthritis or unsteady hands due to Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis or stroke.

Ultimately, permanent makeup just makes life easier!  When you can wake up and head straight to the gym or your job without having to put your “face” on, it leaves so much more time to do the things you want to do.  The best part is that permanent makeup is intended to look as natural as possible so no one will ever know you’ve had it done. You decide whether or not you want to share your best beauty secret!

Putting Your Best Face Forward…The Final Touch 1 Month May 30, 2013

Filed under: Confidence,Cosmetic Surgery,Events,Make up & Lashes,Skin Care & Waxing — relaxattranquility @ 4:23 pm

I am still alive and kicking! I can’t believe it’s been one month since my laser peel. My skin is feeling and looking fabulous. I am being very careful not to get any sun on my face, so if you see some lady walking around St. Charles in a big beach sun hat1 month peel, just honk and wave 🙂  It’s just me out on a walk.1 month peel side

This is me!! No make-up at all. I realize it is hard to tell from these pictures, but the texture of my skin is soft and smooth. The lines around my eyes and mouth are almost completely gone. The hyper-pigmentation is considerably improved. It is truly amazing.

Today,  Amy Hornstrom, our permanent make-up specialist, is going to enhance my eyebrows. As you can see from the picture, they are a little sparce in areas. I usually fill them in with powder on a daily basis, so this will save a step in my regimen.  I am really looking forward to seeing the end result and sharing this with all of you as well. after eyebrowsBefore (below) and directly after (right) . Looks Amazing !!!! Thanks Amy 🙂

Putiing Your Best Face Forward…. 1 month! March 2, 2013

Filed under: Confidence,Make up & Lashes,Skin Care & Waxing,Yoga Workshops — relaxattranquility @ 10:37 am

photo (19)Hi Everyone! Thank you all for the wonderful birthday wishes. I am truly very blessed to have so many wonderful friends in my life.  It has been a week of celebrating AND the 1 month mark of my facelift journey! So hard to believe. And thanks to Dr. Haddle, I keep looking younger every day. HeHe!

I have been given a clean bill of health from Dr. Haddle. WooHoo! I can resume my exercise and go back to my yoga classes!!! Hurray!  I can’t wait until Monday! I don’t have to sleep elevated anymore. Everything is healing well, including the little patch behind my ear. I still have tightness and swelling in the outer perimeter of my face, especially jaw area and neck. Dr. Haddle explains that there are many stitches underneath in these areas, so that is normal. Still a slight feeling of numbness as well. But every day, I see a difference in how things feel. This week I feel as though my energy level is returning to normal.

I can color my hair next week ( a good thing since the gray was starting to give me away 🙂 ). I can also get my eyebrows permanently tattooed by Amy Hornstrom, Tranquility’s newest permanent make-up artist. I have some areas that are uneven and have wanted to have this done again, so we will show you the results of this as soon as I do it.

I am very pleased with the outcome of this journey so far. Dr. Haddle, his staff and Dr. Zak were all wonderful and I can’t say enough wonderful things about the care that I had. Keep following the progress, although I may only post once a week now. Remember to join us for Part 2 of the presentation at Tranquility on Thursday March 28 at 7 pm to see what happens next!

Putting Your Best Face Forward…. Day 10 February 11, 2013

Back to work! I’m glad I wasn’t scheduled to go in until noon today because it’s taken me all morning to get ready! Although I have taken my time by having a good breakfast (the egg muffins were delicious) a nice long shower and a few minutes of meditation.  Make-up for the first time in 10 days took a little longer than I thought, since I’m trying to cover up some bruising. Jane Iredale make-up works wonders!

Here is the official before picture, just to remind you of how my face looked then:Beverly Miller Preop- angle viewphoto (13)

Here’s my picture from today. Tried to get the same angle, but close enough. Wow! What a difference! WooHoo!!! No more face falling forward. It’s all nice and pulled back with no jowls, eyebrows lifted and I don’t look so tired. There is still quite a bit of swelling and numbness. My ears keep feeling tingly and under my jaw is still very hard to the touch. I am trying to do a lot of massage on these areas to get the circulation going. Talking and moving around helps, so I’m looking forward to my day at work.

I am very happy with this journey so far. Can’t wait to see all of you in person !
