Happy 13th Birthday Tranquility! September 5, 2013

Happy Birthday Tranquility! 13 years of growth from a one-woman show to a house of many! On September 5, 2000, Beverly Miller, Esthetician, opened the doors to Tranquility Skin & Body Care at the Stone House in downtown St. Charles, IL.  “I was everyone- receptionist, esthetician and cleaning lady,” stated Beverly.  By 2003, Tranquility moved into a larger space to accommodate the growing staff  of another esthetician, a nail tech and a general manager/business partner, Loreta Lescelius.

Now known as Tranquility Spa and Wellness Center, Beverly’s vision has continued to expand into the present 4000 square-foot space at 113 N. Second Avenue, St. Charles, IL, adding an infrared sauna & steam shower, yoga sanctuary, and multiple treatment rooms.  No longer “just a spa”, Tranquility has blossomed into a haven for beauty, health and wellness.

Tranquility was built on Beverly’s principle that, “Taking care of the skin is a lifelong commitment.  It’s taking care of the skin and aging gracefully… It’s about health and wellness.”  Relax at Tranquility with services including:

Putting Your Best Face Forward….. Day 8 February 9, 2013

What a Glorious Day!

Beautiful sunshine, pretty snow and my first outing! Yes! I got to go outside today. I wanted to play in the snow or go for a walk, but I decided to contain myself a little bit. I’m sure Dr. Haddle appreciated that. So, I drove over to Arcedium coffee shop and met my friend, Sue. It was wonderful to be out and moving and enjoying a cup of coffee with a (5) photo (7)

After my little outing, I went home to have Dr. Sterling, Tranquility’s acupuncturist, give me another treatment. She worked on clearing some of the stagnation along my jawline and neck where I still have the most swelling as well as balancing the energy meridians in my body. Dr. Haddle came by to check on my progress and give me a B12 shot to boost my energy level a little bit. Both of these wonderful doctors have been making house calls for me since we are doing this blog, so I feel very special for the extra attention. However, I would encourage incorporating or rather integrating any or all of the healing modalities you can when you decide to do something like this. I know that Reiki energy has been flowing to me from so many of you out there following along and I feel the warmth and healing benefits of it everyday.

acupuncture day 8This is my acupuncture treatment. If you look closely on the left side of the picture you can see the tiny needles to help with the stagnation.

After a short but sweet visit with Donna, one of Tranquility’s wonderful yoga instructors, it’s time for some dinner. I am going to end the day with a wonderful sauna and steam shower at the spa tonight! Can’t wait for my big day tomorrow! Tune in to find out what Day 9 has in store!

Hi Everyone!

I am finally getting back to writing on the blog and updating you on my progress. I’m attaching a few pictures along the way. The first picture is of the girls sneaking me, the incognito movie star, into the spa through the back door. Dr. Haddle recommended that I spend 5 minutes in the infrared sauna and then take a nice long steamy shower because of the wonderful healing benefits it has. It was great!photo (2)

Dr. Haddle has been a nurturing and caring doctor along this journey. Always reassuring and positive. It makes any thoughts or anxiety melt away. Here he is, visiting me at home, giving me detailed instructions on all the goodies he brought for me.0203131140a

Yesterday I had a little setback and that’s why you didn’t hear from me. Any of you who have done the 3Day Walk with me will understand this statement, ” My train finally left the station” All I can say is: WARNING! Do not let the pain meds get you constipated!! Ok Moving on….

Today was a great! I’m feeling much better and stronger. The day went by so fast. Get up, eat soft food, rest. Shower, yes, the wonderful shower, eat more soft food, rest, actually a nice long nap. Then get up eat even more soft food, rest, write blog 🙂0205132008

Goodnight for now. I will talk to you all again tomorrow.

Hi Everyone!!! It’s actually me 🙂

I know Loreta has been keeping you up to date, but I can finally see well enough to write a little something. First of all, thank you to all of my wonderful friends who have sent well wishes, cards, soup and smoothies! Everything has been terrific! Thanks to Loreta, Sue and Trish who are nursing me back to health. Thank you all sooo  much. Dr. Haddle, you are amazing!!! You have been there to hand hold me all the way too. Reassuring me that  I will look normal again 🙂

The highlight so far was my “SPA DAY” today! Yes indeed, we went on a field trip. Dr. Haddle suggested I go to Tranquility and sit in the infrared sauna for about 5 minutes then let the rain shower pour over me for awhile. It felt wonderful and I am a new person. Came home to have some soup and rest. Today is supposedly the worst day when the swelling peaks. It is uncomfortable, but I honestly have not been in any severe pain. Lots of healing energy with Reiki and acupuncture. Dr. Sterling came to my apartment Saturday afternoon to give me another acupuncture treatment.

I will say goodnight to all and talk with you tomorrow. Goodnight
